St. Phillips Episcopal Church Sterling Ornament #2637 Hand & Hammer 2000. St. Phillips Protestant Episcopal Church stands at 146 Church Street in Charleston South Carolina, housing the city’s oldest Episcopal congregation and is the oldest Anglican church south of Virginia.  The original church on this site was built in 1721.  George Washington attended services at St. Phillip’s in 1791. The present church was built in 1838 after the church burned in 1835, by Joseph Hyde roughly following the 18th century design.  The West Cemetery holds the graves of notable Charlestonians Col. William Rhett, Edward Rutledge, Charles Pinckney, John C. Calhoun, Edward McCrady, and DuBose Heyward.
The size of this ornament is about 2-1/4″ high  X  1-/3/4″ wide. This Sterling Silver Ornament is in excellent like new collectible condition.
