​Snowflake Sterling Christmas Ornament. This delicate snowflake was originally designed for Zales Fine Jewelers Guild in 1986, and sold in the Hand and hammer line of products. It is cast in Sterling using the old wax method. If you look closely you will see the filigree look has created many, many hearts. This is a perfect item to wear on a chain. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Complex shapes emerge as the flake moves through differing temperature and humidity regimes. Individual snowflakes are nearly unique in structure. The snowflake is often a traditional seasonal image/motif used around the Christmas period, especially in Europe and the United States, representing the traditional White Christmas. During this period it is quite popular in the former Soviet Union to make paper snowflakes by folding a piece of paper several times, cutting out a pattern with scissors and then unfolding it, resulting paper snowflakes are then dipped into milk and glued to windows.
Hand and Hammer Silversmiths – 1574 Christmas Snowflake-  The size of this ornament is about 2″ High X 1-3/4″ Wide.  The Ornament has a place for a hook to hang on your tree. Perfect size to wear as a pendant on a chain or ribbon.
