Description

Thayer Angel Sterling Silver Christmas Ornament 1996 Hand and Hammer #1877.  This sterling silver collectible was inspired from a painting by Abbott Handerson Thayer.  Thayer was born in Boston, Massachusetts. The son of a country doctor, he spent his childhood in rural New Hampshire, near Keene, at the foot of Mount Monadnock.  Some of his finest works are in the collections of the Freer Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Academy of Design, National Museum of American Art, and Art Institute of Chicago.  The painting by which this ornament was inspired by “Angel,” 1887. Painting held by the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
 
The size of this ornament is about 2-1/4″ Tall by 1-1/2″ Wide. Hand and Hammer ornaments are the perfect size to wear on a chain as a pendant. Hand Made in the USA!
