Birds dated 2008 Sterling Christmas Ornament by Hand and Hammer #3946. This Sterling collectible is part of the dated birds series that has a large year surrounded by birds. This years bird is a Partridge with a pear branch. One of the most popular series released by the Silversmiths at Hand & Hammer. Partridges medium-sized birds and are native to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Partridges are ground-nesting seed-eaters. Partridges appear as part of the first gift listed in the Christmas carol, “The 12 Days of Christmas”. “A partridge in a pear tree” is sung as the last line of each chorus.
The size of this ornament is about 1-3/4″ high X 2″ wide. Perfect size to wear on a chain as a pendant. Hand Made in the USA.
